South Staffordshire Beekeepers' Association

Shows

The association runs several open days which run alongside the Shugborough Farm Museum. Honey and other hive products are on sale and the demonstrations and talks are well supported by the general public and the interest generated at these events occasionally provides new members for the Association. The observation hive is always a source of imense interest with crowds surrounding it asking questions for hours.

The Association will be represented at each of the Bank Holiday open days and at the Animal Magic (a day for Kids), where our apiary manager does live demonstrations behind a net, the Goose Fayre (where we all dress in goose fayre type costumes, see the sales, the slave auction and the wench above) and the Heavy Horse and Harvest where we hold our Annual Honey Show.

Other local villages invite the Association to their shows to display the observation hive, sell bee products and talk to the public. Many good relationships have been forged at these functions.
